AMAZON PRIME DAY—the site’s biggest sale of the year—is coming back for round two! In September, Amazon announced that for the first time ever, a second Prime members-only sale event is happening this year, taking place October 11 and 12. This time, it’s called the Prime Early Access Sale, and promises Black Friday deals to customers who want to start holiday gift shopping ahead of schedule.
“We are so excited to help Prime members kick off the holiday season with Amazon’s new Prime Early Access Sale—an exclusive opportunity for members to get deep discounts on top brands we know they are looking for this time of year,” said Jamil Ghani, vice president of Amazon Prime.

Yes, Amazon Prime Day is a great time to buy bedding. Historically, Prime Day bedding deals are comparable to Memorial Day and Black Friday sales, the other two best times of the year to shop for discounted bedding and mattresses.
Earlier this year during the first Amazon Prime Day, Amazon took up to 60% off select sheet sets, pillow sets, mattresses, mattresses accessories (like toppers, pads, and covers), and duvet covers and inserts. Those discounts were applied to Amazon best-sellers like the LuxClub Bamboo Sheet Set and top brands like Casper alike. Already, we are seeing comparable discounts for the Prime Early Access Sale.
What is the Amazon Prime Early Access Sale?
Amazon Prime Early Access Sale is a brand new Amazon Prime member-exclusive sale that is modeled after the company’s flagship sale event, Amazon Prime Day. According to an Amazon press release, the Prime Early Access Sale is a chance to get started on 2022 holiday shopping ahead of schedule. The sale promises to offer deep discounts on items and brands that are best-sellers during the holiday shopping season.
When is the Amazon Prime Early Access Sale?
Amazon’s Prime Early Access Sale is happening on October 11 and October 12, 2022, according to an Amazon press release from September 26. This is six weeks ahead of Black Friday, which is when Amazon and other retailers typically start to offer discounts for the holiday season.

What does Amazon Prime cost in 2022?
Only Amazon Prime subscribers will be able to shop the Prime Early Access Sale. An Amazon Prime membership costs $14.99 per month or $139 per year (there are some discounts for students, seniors and other qualifying individuals). If you have never had an Amazon Prime membership, the company offers a 30-day free trial for first-time subscribers. If you sign up now for a free trial, that would make you eligible to shop the Prime Early Access Sale come October 11.
