The NordicTrack EXP 10i takes the lead in the tech-forward, reasonably-priced EXP series. “I had the privilege of testing this treadmill at NordicTrack’s headquarters in Logan, Utah, and it’s safe to say I’m a big fan,” says MH contributor Caroline Lubinsky.
“One feature that stood out me the most when I first tested this machine is the shock-absorbing properties of the belt,” she explains. “I felt a noticeable difference compared to other treadmills throughout a 12-mile run at marathon pace.” Landings feel cushioned and cradled with each stride, and there’s a springy quality as you rebound from the belt. This thing is fun to run on, period.
Equipped with a 2.75 continuous Hp motor, this treadmill offers modest speeds of up to 10 MPH and an incline of up to 12%, meaning it’s not the best choice for sprinters or speed training. “In my experience with this tread, it also delivers a quieter experience compared to many other models I’ve tested, which is sure to be appreciated by your housemates or downstairs neighbors.”
Our least favorite thing about this machine is that its deck is 55 inches long rather than the 60 inch decks we typically recommend for seasoned runners. If you’re tall or looking for a treadmill to log serious training on, this length might clip your stride short. But for most every day running and casual runners, the length won’t be an issue.
