Scandic has expanded its portfolio in Stockholm with the opening of its second Scandic Go hotel, located at Sankt Eriksgatan 20 on the island of Kungsholmen. The new Scandic Go Sankt Eriksgatan 20 features 234 rooms and offers an affordable accommodation option for travelers looking to explore the diverse attractions of Stockholm.

This hotel is the result of a partnership between Scandic and property owner Pandox, who have completed an extensive renovation of the property situated in the Fridhemsplan area.

“ We’re delighted to be opening our second Scandic Go in Stockholm. Since the start a little more than a year ago, our brand in the fast-growing economy segment has been well received by both guests and partners. Right now, I’m really looking forward to establishing a strong presence on Kungsholmen, an area of the capital that Scandic hasn’t operated in earlier. Stockholm is an important market for us, and we’re now sending a clear signal that we’re dedicated to continuing to provide fantastic options for travelers who want to focus on all that Stockholm has to offer” – Peter Jangbratt, Managing Director, Sweden at Scandic Hotels.

Fridhemsplan serves as a key entry point to central Stockholm, known for its mix of residential spaces, restaurants, bars, and green areas, making it an attractive location for both leisure and business travelers. Scandic Go Sankt Eriksgatan 20 is designed to cater to guests seeking convenience and value, offering self-service food options available 24/7, as well as functional room designs with efficient storage solutions.

«  We’re very much looking forward to the grand opening of Scandic Go Sankt Eriksgatan 20 today. The hotel is a clear example of how we actively create value as property owners. We acquired the property at the beginning of 2023 and since then have expanded, renovated and positioned the hotel together with Scandic. It is exciting to be a part of Scandic’s expansion in the economy segment, and the brand fits the hotel property and its central location very well » – Tobias Ekman, Head of Property Management Nordics at Pandox.

The hotel holds a Nordic Swan Ecolabel certification, demonstrating its focus on sustainability. The renovation prioritized the use of eco-friendly materials, such as recycled chairs made from coffee grounds and tabletops crafted from recycled textiles. The hotel’s design also allows for many items to be reused or recycled in the future.

With the addition of this new property, Scandic now operates two hotels under the Scandic Go brand, with a total of 358 rooms. This opening aligns with Scandic’s strategy of offering affordable, environmentally conscious accommodations for travelers looking to enjoy the city’s amenities.
