Andrew, once nicknamed “Air Miles Andy” due to his frequent taxpayer-funded travel, stopped nearly all international trips amid fallout from the Epstein scandal.
Prince Andrew is now free to travel outside the United Kingdom without fear of legal action following the closure of a long-running FBI investigation into his ties to Jeffrey Epstein, according to a leaked memo.
The Duke of York, 65, has largely remained in the UK for the past six years, avoiding international travel over concerns he could be arrested, sued, or subpoenaed.
His only overseas trip in that time was to Bahrain in 2022.
“He has been abroad once since the scandal erupted,” a source told The Sun. “He has always been very nervous about going abroad and felt he’d always be looking over his shoulder as he could be subject to civil action or at worst, being arrested.”
A leaked memo confirmed this week that no criminal charges will be filed against Andrew or any other high-profile individuals linked to Epstein.
The FBI investigation also claims to have found no credible evidence of a so-called “client list,” despite earlier this year Attorney General Pam Bondi saying in February, “I had the client list sitting on my desk right now to review.”
The outcome appears to mark a turning point for Andrew, who has faced public disgrace and royal isolation since his association with Epstein was revealed.
“Hopefully with this out of the way it means he can at least leave the country,” the insider added. “What’s he supposed to do with the rest of his life? He hasn’t been convicted of any crime and can’t sit around doing nothing at Royal Lodge forever.”

In 2020, US authorities requested help from the UK Home Office to bring Andrew in for questioning, but the case was paused in 2024 for undisclosed reasons.
In February 2022, Andrew and Virginia Giuffre, who recently committed suicide, had accused him of sexual abuse while being trafficked by Epstein, reached an out-of-court settlement.
Andrew admitted no wrongdoing and in one of the most incriminating interviews of all time, told a BBC reporter that recounts of the two meeting could not have been true because he “could not sweat,” apparently poking a hole in Guiffre’s story that he had persperated on her while dancing.
The prince has repeatedly denied all allegations against him and stated he has no memory of ever meeting Giuffre, despite a photo showing the two embracing with now-convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell.
His legal trouble continued earlier this year when it was reported that Andrew had maintained communication with Epstein longer than previously admitted and an email revealed the prince told Epstein they would “play some more soon,” reports the New York Post.
