A Russian video game store may have leaked the release date for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. The game could arrive on September 18, about a week after the rumored Direct event.

Nintendo has been tight-lipped about the release date for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, a game that has been in the works for over eight years. It started as Metroid Prime 4 and was first announced in 2017, but in 2024 it was given the Beyond subtitle and a 2025 release window. Now, with only four months left in the year, we may finally have an exact release date, and its much closer than expected.

A Russian online game store called Videoigr has the Switch 2 version of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond listed for pre-order with a release date of September 18 at a price of ₽8,390 which convers to $105 (August 30 rate). The page shows both an expected arrival date and a release date, both of which are September 18. Notably, the website does have a disclaimer stating that the price, pre-order conditions, release date, configuration, and appearance are preliminary and may change when stocks arrive. That being said, this information comes soon after a Nintendo Direct event was rumored to take place on September 12. Furthermore, a recent report claimed that several testers who were working on Metroid Prime 4: Beyond have wrapped up, suggesting it is getting closer to launch.

It should be noted that Nintendo has not shared a release date for the game or any information about the speculated Direct event. It has, however, confirmed a 2025 release for the game so it is possible that the rumored event on September 12 brings a Metroid announcement. The company has also been demoing the game at various events for months now.

Some influences who went hands-on with the game came back unimpressed. Krysta from the Kit & Krysta podcast found using the Joy-Cons as mice to be uncomfortable. Of course, the game does not mandate playing in mouse mode. Moreover, she felt that the demo failed to capture the loneliness of Samus.
