“I love garages and I love recycling old buildings—that’s what I do,” Martha Stewart said during the launch of Summer Body Shop in East Hampton, where Mytheresa and Flamingo Estate have collaborated on a retail space to kick off summer. Inside an old auto body shop at 9 Railroad Avenue, cult favorite products by Flamingo Estate (“Their olive oil is superb, any of the condiments, the coffee, and the honey,” Stewart maintains) are juxtaposed with handbags, swimwear, sunglasses, and much more from brands like Bottega Veneta, Khaite, and Loewe, courtesy of Mytheresa. It’s a one-stop shop inside an unconventional body shop. “It makes East Hampton even more interesting,” Stewart said.

Richard Christiansen, founder of Flamingo Estate, was inspired to create the shopping experience after visiting a car show in Pebble Beach. While spending time in the world of car connoisseurs, he began dreaming up a different way to explore the idea of luxury. “In a world gone crazy for fast fashion and fast food, we’re trying to do the opposite—the slow and intentional way of doing things,” he said. Inside the pop-up shop is an “inconvenience store,” which features an expertly curated collection of nonperishable products and decadent pantry items to nourish the body inside and out.
