The Atlanta Dream took a 1-0 series lead with an 80-68 home victory on Sunday night, led by Allisha Gray’s 20 points, six rebounds, four assists, three steals, and a block. Rhyne Howard added 20 points of her own as the Dream made 19 of 21 free-throw attempts in a game that was very close through three quarters, with the Dream leading by five heading to the final frame.

In the decisive final quarter, the Dream pulled away with a 9-0 run that spanned the first three minutes and 26 seconds, as Howard nailed a three-pointer and then converted on two technical free throws after fouls were called on the Fever’s Odyssey Sims and coach Stephanie White.

Kelsey Mitchell led the Fever in scoring with 27, while Aliyah Boston added eight points, 12 rebounds, and five assists.
