Here’s When Saltburn Will Hit Streaming

preview for Eat Like Jacob Elordi

Much like she did with her directorial feature debut Promising Young Woman, Emerald Fennell is sparking all kinds of conversations with her second film, the psychosexual thriller Saltburn. Set against the backdrop of a labyrinthine country house in the summer of 2007, it stars Barry Keoghan as Oliver, a lonely young man who becomes increasingly obsessed with his charismatic friend Felix (Jacob Elordi) and his aristocratic family’s decadent lifestyle.

There’s not a lot more that can be said about the plot of Saltburn without getting into spoiler territory, but its lurid visuals and dark sense of humor are charming critics, as are Keoghan and Elordi’s central performances—which are supported by stellar, scene-stealing work from Rosamund Pike, Carey Mulligan, Richard E. Grant, Archie Madekwe and Alison Oliver.

Oh, and anyone who was coming of age in the mid-00s will be triggered by the period-specific music and fashion, just FYI.

When does Saltburn arrive on streaming?

Saltburn is a co-production of MGM and Amazon Studios, meaning that once it leaves theaters, the first streaming platform to add the movie to its library will be Amazon Prime Video. In the case of other Amazon Original Movies like Air and Foe, the window between cinematic release and streaming date has varied pretty widely: Air hit the platform just five weeks after its theatrical run, while Foe is expected to begin streaming 13 weeks after leaving theaters.

This means that Saltburn could arrive on Prime Video any time between late December 2023 and early February 2024. But if you don’t want to be spoiled on any of those twists, you may want to catch it in theaters while you still can.
