Harry Styles celebrated a new chapter in both his life and his career at the 2026 Grammy Awards.

The singer attended the awards ceremony at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 1, which happened to be his 32nd birthday. He opted against walking the red carpet, only appearing on stage to present the very last award of the night: Album of the Year.

“It’s an absolute pleasure to here with you tonight to present the award for Album of the Year,” he said after making his entrance to “Where Is My Husband!” by Raye.

Styles added, “A truly great album can change the way you see everything. An artist can take you on a journey as you discover the world together. The best albums stay with you, and you can always return to them, just like old friends.”

Bad Bunny ultimately took home the coveted Grammy for his album Debí Tirar Más Fotos. (Fellow nominees included Lady Gaga, Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber and Kendrick Lamar, among others.)

Sunday marks Styles’ Grammys comeback after he most recently appeared at the awards show in 2023. At the time, he performed “As It Was” and took home trophies for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for Harry’s House. (The three-time winner previously earned his first Grammy for Best Pop Solo Performance for “Watermelon Sugar” in 2021.)

Next month, Styles is set to release his fourth solo album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally., on March 6. After dropping the first single, “Aperture,” on January 22, he spoke about his return to music following an extended hiatus.

“I think the last two years for me, the most important thing was about being on the other side of the audience experience,” he told John Mayer in a SiriusXM interview. “Spending so much time on stage, it’s really easy to forget what it feels like to be in the middle of a crowd and dancing and singing with strangers.”

Once Styles experienced other artists’ concerts, he was inspired to release his own new music.

“It was largely about having that reminder of this feeling of being in the audience,” he explained. “What this means to people is so magical and that’s what I wanted. That’s the music that I wanted to make. I wanted it to feel like it was made from the dance floor.”

Amid his break from his career, Styles also focused on rehabilitating his personal connections.

“If you’re, like, a touring musician, your life slowly becomes more isolated,” he noted. “The corners just start coming in, whether it’s the people you trust or your friendship circles get slightly smaller over time, just as people do when they grow up. I think for me, the last kind of couple years was just about opening back up. When you close yourself off to some negative things, you have to accept that you’re also closing off to a lot of positive things.”

Styles will soon return to the stage with his Together, Together tour, which kicks off on May 16 with 10 shows in Amsterdam followed by 12 concerts in London, four in Brazil, six in Mexico, three in Melbourne and two in Sydney. Before the tour concludes on December 13, Styles will also have a 30-date residency at Madison Square Garden in New York City from August 26 to October 31.

Throughout the 2026 Grammys on Sunday, host Trevor Noah made several references to expensive ticket prices — a topic sparking heated debates online after Styles’ tour went on sale.
