The development plans would involve the demolition of twelve accommodation blocks and three other large outdated buildings in the Clydesdale and Nash Grove area.

Eight new blocks would then be constructed on the 15-acre development site, which is expected to cost around £185m to deliver.

The University hopes to start work next year on the new student accommodation buildings ranging in height from three to eight storeys.
