It seems that DJI could be replacing the DJI Neo drone before the end of the month. If an early teaser is anything to go by, the company will to introduce the Neo 2 next week, but not necessarily globally.
Earlier this month, suggestions emerged pointing to a November release for three rumoured DJI devices. To recap, DroneXL alleged that DJI was plotting to introduce the Neo 2, the Osmo Mobile 8 and the Mic 3 Pro during the same month.
Lining up as successors or alternatives to the Neo, Osmo Mobile 7 and Mic 3, respectively, it was unclear whether the trio would arrive simultaneously. According to Igor Bogdanov, DJI has other plans for its next compact drone. Writing on X, the leaker indicates that the Neo 2 will actually arrive in a week’s time to replace the existing DJI Neo (curr. $199 on Amazon).
Based on a recent DJI China Weibo post, Bogdanov implies that DJI will be hosting its next launch event on October 30. Not only that, but the focus of DJI’s ‘Everything Under Control’ teaser video is a triple propeller protected by a multi-part guard. For the time being, it seems that this October 30 event may only apply to China and not globally.
Nonetheless, we can reasonably expect that DJI will only present next Thursday, with other rumoured devices arriving on different dates. Incidentally, DJI China has also gone slightly early by announcing the Osmo Mobile 8 too, full details of which we have covered separately.
