Why Renee and Carter Weren’t Shown in Love Is Blind Season 5

Love Is Blind Season 5 is almost done, but that doesn’t mean the drama is over. In fact, it may have just begun. Like other reality shows, Love Is Blind doesn’t stop just when the cameras cut. Couples pair up on the show, and may or may not get married, but since the show is filmed so far in advance, fans are constantly playing catch up to figure out which couples are still together, which couples broke up, and if any couples formed that they didn’t see.

Season 5 makes a departure from past iterations, focusing only on three couples (previous installments have featured as many as five). In previous seasons, with more contestants shown, it at least increases the likelihood that someone will have a happy ending, at least within the timeframe of the show. It’s a bold move for Netflix, as fans love to see as much relationship chaos as possible.

So it’s no shock that viewers are trawling social media and the Internet for any information about other members of the cast. Back in September, the creator of the show confirmed to Variety that multiple couples got engaged, but weren’t necessarily shown in this season.With only 10 episodes in Season 5, Netflix may have wanted to only focus on couples that had big stories to tell (although an engagement is certainly a big deal).

Because of the limited number of couples, viewers suspect two other contestants, Renee and Carter, actually got engaged on the show, and Netflix didn’t air it. Here’s what we know.

Are Renee and Carter Together in Love Is Blind Season 5?

According to Insider, the couple not only got engaged in the pods, but applied for a marriage license in 2022, along with the couples fans did see on the show. The two never actually legally wed, however, according to the public records.

While there’s been no official comment on the matter from either contestants, Renee has posted on Instagram about the show. Renee and Carter also seem to appear in later episodes but have been artfully cut around. In one shot, Renee appears to have an engagement ring on her finger.

While there’s speculation about what may have occurred behind the scenes, we won’t know the true story unless Carter, Renee, or production reveals the story. Who knows? We may get the answers we’re looking for in After the Altar.
