With so many aesthetics trending on a daily basis, understanding the viral concepts can be a bit confusing — but fret not as Us Weekly is here to break them all down.

Take cottagecore, for example. Celebrities including Kylie Jenner, Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, AnnaSophia Robb and more have hopped on the trend, which takes inspiration from countryside living. Hadid especially leaned into the aesthetic in July 2023, when she took to Instagram to share a photo of her wearing a floral dress while feeding her horses. In the background of the snap, fans caught a glimpse of a whimsical forest and a stone wall covered in moss, perfectly capturing the essence of cottagecore.

The aesthetic is inspired by the idyllic vibe of English cottages and scenic farmhouses. Cottagecore outfits include flowy frocks, puff-sleeve tops, linen sets as well as floral patterns and lightweight fabric. Selena Gomez nailed the trend when she wore a blue and white dress finished with puffy sleeves in June 2023. 

The tomato girl wardrobe was influenced by Mediterranean and European vacations. The trend is all about wearing bold colors like red teamed with woven bags one would find in Italy. Khloe Kardashian and daughter True matched in tulip-covered dresses while in Tuscandy in August 2023. 

The trend can be described as a wardrobe filled with logoless designer items. To embody quiet luxury fashion, one most rock muted outfits and timeless accessories. Sofia Richie has been hailed the queen of quiet luxury thanks to her wardrobe of tweed dresses, fluted jackets, glossy pumps and several Hermès handbags. 

The aesthetic takes inspiration from education and school uniforms, but also leans into gothic in the tones. Dark academic getups consist of plaid prints, blazers, ties, loafers, school-girl skirts, knee-high socks and messenger bags. Dixie D’Amelio rocked the trend when she wore a gray gingham mini dress featuring a flowy skirt and a scoop neckline. She teamed the number with knee-high stockings and leather loafers. 

The beauty craze started in summer 2023 when Hailey Bieber posted a selfie showing off rosy cheeks, her natural freckles, soft mascara and glossy lips. 

Latte makeup is inspired by the coffee drink’s soft brown color. The makeup trend includes coco-colored eyeshadows — blended into the crease, shimmery gold lids, bronzed skin and highlighted cheeks. Lori Harvey rocked the look during the 2023 Cannes Film Festival when she opted for mousy eyeshadow and glossy lips. 

The clean girl aesthetic emphasizes a proper skincare routine, dewy skin, minimal makeup and slicked-back buns. Camila Morrone slayed the trend in August 2023 when she showed off her luminous skin and highlighted cheeks in a makeup-free selfie.
