Steam expands its free games library with new December 2025 additions

The game collection on Steam is constantly growing, and while there are many paid additions, the platform also gets new free games from time to time. A handful of these newly added freebies have been spotted right before December 2025 ended.

Steam has added yet another round of free games, and this time, most of the additions happened right before the start of January 2026. Like last time, not all the newly spotted freebies seem to be worth trying, as many of them don’t have a player rating yet.

Of course, a handful of these new Steam free games have already achieved a good overall player rating. Some of them are:

  • The Silence After – released on December 4, it’s a first-person atmospheric horror with interesting gameplay mechanics. This free game currently has over 45 player reviews, and 97% of them are positive.
  • Mahjong Realms – described as a matching tiles game with puzzles. It currently has around 30 player reviews with an overall 92% positive rating.
  • Not For You – a narrative-driven casual free game that was released on December 03. This freebie currently has a 100% positive rating that’s based on 16 reviews.
  • HANEHOLO! – an action RPG title with proper controller support (8BitDo Ultimate 2C wireless curr. $25.49 on Amazon). This jump-action game was released on December 12, and so far, it has received 60 reviews, of which 75% are positive.
  • Inotia 4 – a single-player fantasy game with pixel graphics. Released in December 08, this 2D freebie has over 300 player reviews, and 79% of them are positive.
  • Fracctal TCG – an early access free game that takes inspiration from games like Pokémon. It currently features over 30 reviews and an overall 88% positive rating.
  • Blackthorne’s Manor – a FPS mystery thriller with logic-based puzzles. This free game was released on December 10, and it currently sports a 100% positive rating with 16 reviews.
  • The December Job – described as a first-person horror with stealth elements. This free game has 30 player reviews, of which 93% are positive.
  • Tackle Box: The First Catch – a fast-paced fishing game with retro visuals and interesting twists. It currently has a 90% positive rating with around 20 reviews.
  • Clockwork Cleanup – an auto-battler with roguelike elements. This Steam free game has over 160 player reviews, with the overall rating being 99% positive.
