The HMD Skyline, with its distinctive Nokia Lumia design and support for magnetic Qi2 chargers, is already one of the more unusual mid-range smartphones on the market. According to latest rumors, the successor will sport a metal unibody chassis with a centrally aligned camera module, as well as several upgrades.
The HMD Skyline (from $399 on Amazon) stands out on the smartphone market primarily due to an unusual design and a look that was inspired by Nokia Lumia phones. The metal frame is rounded only on the left and right sides, the frame is curved on the front, and the corners of the frame are noticeably sharper than the rounded display corners.
According to the latest information from smashx_60, who has frequently revealed accurate information about new HMD Global products in the past, the HMD Skyline 2 will receive an even more striking design. The manufacturer is apparently opting for a metal unibody chassis, which means the back and the frame are likely to be a single component instead of two. Wireless charging via Qi2 should still be possible, although it’s possible that only the more expensive HMD Skyline 2 GT will have built-in magnets that are practical for various accessories.
The camera module is supposedly redesigned and centered instead of being positioned in a corner. According to earlier rumors, the HMD Skyline 2 will sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, a 6.55-inch 144Hz pOLED display with a brightness of 1,200 nits, a 50MP selfie camera and a 108MP main camera, which will be accompanied by a 13MP and 50MP camera.
The battery allegedly has a capacity of 5,000mAh and will be charged via USB-C with a up to 33 watts. In addition to a waterproof chassis, the more expensive HMD Skyline 2 GT might receive five main upgrades. A faster Snapdragon 7 Gen 3, a 50MP instead of a 13MP camera, a ToF sensor, a dedicated camera shutter button as well as 45-watt fast charging.

My fascination for technology goes back a long way to the Pentium II era. Modding, overclocking and treasuring computer hardware has since become an integral part of my life. As a student, I further developed a keen interest in mobile technologies that can make the stressful college life so much easier. After I fell in love with the creation of digital content while working in a marketing position, I now scour the web to bring you the most exciting topics in the world of tech. Outside the office, I’m particularly passionate about motorsports and mountain biking.
